Food Production · FSSC 22000
Keep the line safe, and prove it to your FSSC 22000 auditor.
MaintenanceIQ Food Production is a shipped food-safety module that adds sanitation, allergen control, CCP gates, lot traceability and FSSC 22000 evidence packs to an industrial CMMS. It helps your maintenance planner, your sanitation lead and your food safety team keep every repair, clean and lot on one record.

An illustrative day
A day in a food plant
05:30. Your sanitation lead starts the pre-op round. Each clean is a recorded task with before and after photos and an ATP swab result. A swab that fails verification keeps the clean open, so the line does not start on a guess.
09:00. A seal on a filler head starts to leak. Your technician opens a work order, swaps the seal and logs the part. The part is marked food-grade, so the job can close. Had a non-food-grade part been picked, it would have been blocked. Before the filler goes back to production, a post-maintenance clearance gate asks for sign-off that the area is clean and no tools or debris are left.
13:00. The line moves from a product containing nuts to one without. The allergen changeover runs as eight gated steps, each signed in order. When the last step closes, the record is frozen.
15:00. A supplier's certificate of analysis is about to expire. The supplier scorecard drops, and your food safety team sees it before the next delivery is accepted.
Audit week. The auditor picks a finished lot. Your team runs a trace back to every ingredient lot and a trace forward to every customer it reached, with a mass balance. The FSSC 22000 evidence pack already holds the sanitation, CCP, changeover and recall drill records.
Sanitation you can verify
Sanitation runs on a schedule and on events, such as a clean after a breakdown on a food-contact asset. Each clean records who did it, before and after photos, ATP or swab verification, and sign-off.
One-click food template packs give you curated sanitation, pre-op, changeover and PM checklists to start from, so setup takes minutes rather than days.
- Recurring and event-triggered sanitation tasks
- ATP and swab verification with sign-off
- Before and after photos on every clean
Allergens, pests and hygiene, on the same record
Allergen zones and changeover
An allergen zone register shows where each allergen lives in the plant. Changeovers run as eight gated steps, signed in order, and the record is frozen on closure.
Pest control
Pest control stations are registered with their inspections. Findings that need action escalate on their own, so a pest sighting does not wait in a notebook.
Food and hygiene on every asset
Each asset carries its contact class, hygienic design, HACCP and CCP status, lubrication and allergen zone, so your technician knows the rules before the first bolt comes out.
CCP gates that stop unsafe restarts
The riskiest moment in food maintenance is the restart. MaintenanceIQ puts gates around it. A work order on food-contact equipment cannot close past the post-maintenance clearance gate without sign-off. A part that is not food-grade is blocked. A temporary repair escalates so it does not quietly become permanent.
If a CCP check on an asset goes overdue, the asset is locked from returning to production until the check is done. Food-grade parts carry their certificates, and a Food Safety profile holds your FSSAI details and the thresholds the plant enforces.
- Post-maintenance clearance gate on food-contact work
- Non-food-grade part block and temporary repair escalation
- CCP-overdue lock on return to production
Food traceability software with mock recall built in
Ingredient lots come in with their supplier lot, expiry and certificate of analysis. A versioned recipe rolls up declared allergens. A production run consumes lots first expiry first out, records inline CCP checks, yield and variance, and produces a finished lot that cannot be edited once complete.
From any lot, trace back to its ingredients or forward to where it went, with a mass balance that reconciles what came in against what went out. One click produces a mock recall PDF. Recall drills log time to trace and a recall effectiveness percentage as audit evidence.
- Raw material to finished product lot genealogy
- Trace back, trace forward and mass balance
- One-click mock recall PDF and timed recall drills
- Spare part lots too, such as which lubricant lot went on which food-contact asset
Supplier qualification and scorecards
Incoming material is only as safe as its supplier. Each supplier carries an approval status and a periodic re-assessment date, and each incoming lot carries a certificate of analysis with its validity tracked.
Supplier scorecards give each supplier a transparent score from 0 to 100, built from approval status, certificate coverage and lot quality, with penalties for an overdue review or an expired certificate. Suppliers are ranked by risk, and the scores feed the supplier section of your evidence pack.
- This is a traceability engine, not production planning, MRP or sales.
- Lot traceability is part of the Food module and is controlled by its own permission.
An FSSC 22000 evidence pack from daily work
The FSSC 22000 pack is built from the records your team already keeps: sanitation, allergen changeovers, pest control, CCP checks, post-maintenance clearance, supplier qualification and lot traceability with recall drills, alongside PM compliance, calibration and work order history.
Sections are clause-mapped, with a readiness score and gap rules that show what is missing before the auditor does. Each pack is frozen as a record that cannot be edited and can carry an optional electronic signature. MaintenanceIQ gives your auditor evidence. Certification comes from your certification body.
- Clause-mapped sections with a readiness score
- Lot traceability and recall section from the traceability engine
- Immutable pack with optional e-signature
Frequently asked questions
Does MaintenanceIQ certify us to FSSC 22000?
No. It keeps the maintenance and food-safety records an auditor asks for and assembles them into an evidence pack. Certification comes from your certification body.
How does a mock recall work?
Pick a lot and run a trace back to its ingredients and forward to its destinations, with a mass balance. One click produces a mock recall PDF, and a recall drill logs the time to trace and a recall effectiveness percentage.
Is this a production planning or MRP system?
No. The traceability engine records lots, recipes, production runs and dispositions so you can trace and recall. It does not plan production, run MRP or handle sales.
Will general manufacturing users see the food features?
No. The food layer is switched on per site. Sites without it see only Core CMMS and any other modules they license.
Can we try it first?
Yes. Start a free three-day trial and choose Food at signup. That turns on the food-safety and traceability modules for the trial.
